jburton Dr. John Burton
All-State, Masterclass, and Technique
Dr. Burton received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Cello Performance from Rice University. He continued his studies at the University of Southern California, receiving the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Cello Performance. Dr. Burton did post-doctoral study at Harvard University, participating in the Management and Leadership in Education program and the Management Development program for administrators at the university level. Dr. Burton has held teaching and administrative positions at various universities. He is an accomplished performing and recording artist with several orchestras in Texas. He is currently Professor of Music at UTA, where he teaches chamber music and works with the most outstanding group of individuals of his career.

 

dbrooks Deborah Brooks
All-State Masterclass and Technique

Deborah Brooks has performed with the Fort Worth Symphony since 1976 and served as Associate Principal Cellist for 18 years. Although Ms. Brooks resigned her position in 1999 to expand her freelance and contracting career, she performed regularly with the FWSO until rejoining as a Section Cellist in 2010. She has also been the solo cellist for Casa Manana Musicals since 1981 and is in the core pit orchestra of the Dallas Summer Musicals.  Ms. Brooks received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the University of North Texas, where she has developed a mentoring program for students and serves as Adjunct Faculty, teaching Career Development in the College of Music since Fall 2009. Ms. Brooks has taught at both UTA and UNT and has been a clinician and adjudicator in the area. She maintains a private studio in the metroplex and works with students of all levels to develop their musicianship and cello abilities.

 

keirafullerton Keira Fullerton
All-State Masterclass and Technique
Keira Fullerton has been the Assistant Principal cellist of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra since 2008, and served as acting Associate Principal for the 2012-2013 season. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Rice University in 2003 and her Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2005. Before joining the FWSO, Ms. Fullerton was the Assistant Principal cellist of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in Winnipeg, Manitoba for three seasons.

 

nkeefer Nathan Keefer
TCA Festival Orchestra

Nathan Keefer is the Director of Orchestras at Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas. Mr. Keefer grew up as a cellist in the Arlington string program and was raised in a family of music educators.  In 2008 he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Education from UT Arlington and is one of the founding members of the very popular cello rock quartet The 440 Alliance.

 

 jharvick Jeff Harvick
TCA Festival Orchestra
Jeff Harvick is Assistant Director of Orchestras at Arlington HS, where he also teaches AP Music Theory. Mr, Harvick is a product of the Arlington string program. He received two Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of North Texas – Instrumental Performance and Music Education-where he graduated summa cum laude in 2009. He is an active private teacher, freelance musician, and member of the 440 Alliance.

 

lgreer Louanne Greer
TCA Camp Director/Administrator
Louanne Greer is the Director of the Texas Cello Academy and co-Director of the TCA Junior. She is Assistant Orchestra Director at Young Junior High School in Arlington, TX. Mrs. Greer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance from UTA, and a Master’s in Musicology/Ethnomusicology from the University of TN, Knoxville. She has taught classroom and private cello at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels. She is a freelance performer with many local orchestras and ensembles.
